Product & Conversion Optimization
Dear Hiring Team,
I'm a software engineer focused on bringing AI capabilities into real production systems, and I care as much about the craft of getting there as the result. I love taking a project from a rough idea through research, development, and a polished release that people actually rely on. Pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the browser and at the edge is the part of the work I enjoy most.
I spent the last decade at Cro Metrics, where I architected OLI, the experimentation platform the company runs on. As the platform matured, my work shifted toward AI tooling built around it. Ask Iris is an embedded chat assistant wired into a suite of live data tools, and building it taught me how much of an agent's usefulness comes down to the harness around it — the tools, the context, the guardrails — and not the model alone. The OLI Extension wires OLI's infrastructure to AI agents through a Cursor integration — a custom MCP server, browser automation, and local hosting proxies that together let the agents build A/B experiments on their own. I also built automations that builds A/B experiments on LangChain over Cloudflare Workers, as well as using LangSmith profiling each run and Claude Code within inside GitHub Actions to pre-build experiment code. None of it was a demo — it all shipped against the production platform.
The web ecosystem is home turf for me. I've shipped production work across TypeScript, React, Tailwind, PHP/Laravel, and Python, and I'd be comfortable picking up whatever language or framework a team runs on. I've also spent several years at the staff level — leading code review, driving repo-wide TypeScript migrations, and mentoring engineers at every stage. I like owning a system end to end, and I'm just as happy digging into an unfamiliar codebase to find the one change that actually matters.
I've worked fully remote for my entire career, from Hilo, Hawaii. I genuinely enjoy the autonomy and trust that come with a well-run distributed team, and I've put real thought into the communication habits that keep one healthy over the long term.
Kind regards,
Andrew Wessels
